ANNUAL BOOK SALE Friends of the BPL, Tuesday, July 4th, 9am-1pm Bartlett Congregational Church

Please come and support the Friends of the Bartlett Public library in their support of our library! The sale will be held at the Bartlett Congregational church again this year.  Please stop by before the parade at 11am or after.  This is a community event which helps put old books into new hands.  The parade will be following a new route this year going directly in front of the school/library to the tents on the other side of the building.  The parking lot will be closed for all parking to allow emergency vehicles access.  There should be plenty of parking behind the school.

The Measure by Nikki Erlick Tuesday, 7/11 at 7pm

Please join us on Tuesday, July 11th at 7 pm in the library for a discussion of The Measure by Nikki Erlick.   A luminous, spirit-lifting blockbuster that asks: would you choose to find out the length of your life?

Copies of this title are available at the library.  If you have never been to a book discussion please join us and give it a try, this is a very informal discussion where all points of view are welcome.

Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus Tues., 6/13 @ 7pm

Best Book of the Year:  The New York Times, Washington Post, NPR, Oprah Daily and Newsweek.

At 65, author Bonnie Garmus’ debut novel has hit the charts with the quirky, self-assured gifted research chemist, Elizabeth Zott.  It’s the 1950’s and Elizabeth must navigate the harsh realities of working in a man’s world.  Often hilarious, Garmus has created an honest and insightful look at what women experienced as they bucked social convention.

Jackie Hamblet will be facilitating this discussion, please join us.  As always copies of the book are available at the library.  If you have previously read the book and never come to a book discussion now is the time.
